RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Machine and Tool Design Engineers team with both R&D and Manufacturing to deliver designs for the most complex manufacturing equipment in the tire industry. Machine and Tool Design Engineers exhibit a high aptitude for, and interest in, CAD, machine design, drawing standards, dimensioning and tolerancing, and are knowledgeable of machine components and their suppliers.
Machine Design Engineer Requires a bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology
- Designs machine assemblies and produces the associated drawings/documentation
- Analyzes and troubleshoots process/machine problems and provides solution proposals
- Conducts feasibility studies and provides cost estimates
- Coordinates project team activities and obtains additional resources as required
Tool Design Engineer Requires a bachelor's degree or an associate's degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology.
- Creates designs for tread tooling, designs for mold parts, and related part specifications
- Utilizes feedback from mold manufacturing facilities and tire plants to improve the designs, the process and costs
