MANUFACTURING
In a manufacturing environment, financial performance must be accurately measured and clearly reported. The accounting organization is responsible for providing the management team with the financial information necessary to make decisions and effectively run the operation.
Plant Accountant Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
- Captures and reports plant production costs, maintains general ledger journals for wage payroll and other financial transactions, and prepares monthly and year-end closing reports, including analysis of variance
- Coordinates the plant budget process, maintains key plant indicators (production, scrap, and inventory), and reports to the plant staff on financial issues
