CORPORATE SERVICES

The Central Quality Engineering organization provides technical expertise to help manufacturing facilities across the country identify, develop, implement and refine processes and equipment. Special expertise may be developed in one or more specific areas of tire manufacturing (extrusion, curing, mixing, etc.) or in quality. Some positions involve travel to work on projects in multiple plants in an effort to standardize practices.

Quality Engineer Requires a bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or chemistry.

  • Assists the plants in initiatives to improve quality in the manufacturing process and to industrialize new technology and materials
  • Applies technical troubleshooting skills to existing processes with production quality concerns
  • Implements initiatives to assure product quality while respecting cost reduction initiatives
  • Prepares for this role through an extensive training program
