Brand Category Manager for Michelin Performance Sport Tires
My name is Adam, and I am a 32 year old from Baltimore, MD. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Furman University in Greenville, SC in 1995.
I have been with Michelin for almost eleven years now, holding multiple positions in Sales and Marketing. My positions have included Territory Manager, Corporate Account Manager, Associate Marketing Manager, and Brand Category Manager (first on BFGoodrich Brand and most recently on Michelin Brand).
My current role is Brand Category Manager for Michelin Performance Sport Tires. As such, my responsibilities are numerous and challenging. I am responsible for delivering the volume, market share, and financial objectives established for my category, through management of the marketing mix (product, price, promotion, and distribution).
I chose Michelin because the Company's core values, including respect for employees, appealed to me. I have always been very comfortable with the way my career has been managed. My career objective is to earn responsibility for as much of Group Michelin's profitability as possible, and Michelin has put me on a path that affords me opportunities to earn more responsibility.
My passion is to compete, which I have lived out through athletics my entire life. Michelin has afforded me the opportunity to live out this passion in my professional life as well.
In addition to the challenges posed by my responsibilities and the people with whom I work, it is Michelin's culture which makes it truly enjoyable to come to work each day. One of the many illustrations I have seen of our culture occurred a couple of years ago at our National Customer Meeting. The Firestone Recall was at its height, and Mr. Edouard Michelin was addressing that topic. Mr. Michelin's message at that meeting was not that we should attack Firestone, but rather that we should all feel sympathy for the many Firestone employees who would be adversely affected by this terrible situation and also for those who were killed or injured in the vehicle accidents.
